IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2017

IBPS RRB Officer Grade 2017 will be conducted tentatively on 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th September, 2017 (Preliminary Exam) and the mains exam for the same will be conducte on 5th November 2017.

The candidates applying for IBPS RRB 2017 should fulfill the following Eligibility Parameters:
  • Nationality
  • Age Limit
  • Educational Qualification
Criteria laid under different IBPS RRB Eligibility Parameters 2017
Nationality/Citizenship: A candidate must be either
  • (i) a Citizen of India or
  • (ii) a subject of Nepal or
  • (iii) a subject of Bhutan or
  • (iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
  • (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favors a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Age Limit:

As per IBPS Eligibility Criteria 2017, there are different age limit for different posts.

The table illustrated below shows the age limit as per the posts.

6 Widows, divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried (For Office Assistants) – 9 years
7 Candidates ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 1 Jan 1980 to 31 Dec 1989 5 years
8 1984 riot victims 5 years

IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2017 – Educational Qualification and Experience

1 Office Assistant (Multipurpose) Candidate must have a degree in any discipline from a recognized state or central university. It is essential that the candidate is proficient in local language. Candidate with knowledge in computer skills will be preferred. Not necessary
2 Officer Scale I Candidate must have a degree in any discipline from a recognized state or central university. He must be proficient in local language. Desirable is if he possesses computer knowledge or awareness. Not required
3 Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer) Candidate must have a degree in any discipline from a recognized state or central university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. Two years as an officer in any bank or financial institution
4 Officer Scale II (Specialist Officers) Information Technology (IT) Officer
Candidate must have a degree from a recognized state or central university in Electronics/Communication/Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. It is desirable that he possesses a certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, and OCP.
One year as an officer in any bank or financial institution
Chartered Accountant
Candidate must be a certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
One year as an officer in any bank or financial institution
Law Officer
Candidate must hold a degree from a recognized state or central university in Law or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
Two years as an advocate or two years experience as Law Officer in any bank or financial institution
Treasury Manager
Candidate must be a Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or hold degree of MBA in Finance from a recognized state or central university.
One year as an officer in any bank or financial institution
Marketing Officer
Candidate must have done MBA in Marketing from a recognized state or central university.
One year as an officer in any bank or financial institution
Agricultural Officer
Candidate must hold a degree in Agriculture/Horticulture/Dairy/Animal Husbandry/Forestry/Veterinary Science/Agricultural Engineering/Fishery from a state or central recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
Two years as an officer in any bank or financial institution
5 Officer Scale III Candidate must hold a degree in any discipline from a recognized state or central university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. Minimum 5 years experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions

Salient features of the IBPS RRB Exam Pattern 2017

  • The exam is held in online mode only
  • The questions asked in the exam are of objective type.
  • The exam-pattern is different for Scale – I, II and III and Office Assistant posts
  • The medium of exam will be both English/Hindi.
  • The exam will be segregated into certain number of parts or sections which would have a certain number of questions. Candidates have to attempt the complete exam in the specified time duration
  • There will be negative marking for the wrong answers

IBPS RRB Exam Pattern 2017

The exam pattern for the selection to the post of Office Assistant is quite different to that of exam pattern for the selection to the post of Officer Grade. For IBPS RRB Assistant 2017, Exam will be conducted in two phases:

  • 1) Preliminary Exam
  • 2) Mains Exam

No interview process will be conducted for selecting candidates to the post of Office Assistant. Selection will be made purely on the marks obtained by candidate in his/her Mains Examination.

For IBPS RRB Officer 2017, exam will be conducted in three phases:

  • 1) Preliminary Exam
  • 2) Mains Exam
  • 3) Interview Process

The final selection will be made on the cumulative score obtained by candidate in both Mains Exam and Interview Process

IBPS RRB 2017 Application Fee

A total of Rs. 600/- is to be paid by candidates belonging to General Category as the application fee for both IBPS RRB Assistant 2017 and IBPS RRB Officer 2017. The same amount is narrowed down to Rs. 100/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category.
